Dr. Smith is an Orange County plastic and
reconstructive surgeon. He offers his skills in plastic surgery to men and women in Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and other Orange County communities.
Dr. Smith received his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, a school reputed to have one of the top plastic surgery programs in the country. Dr. Smith had the opportunity to sharpen his skills under the tutelage of many well-known plastic surgeons in the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles areas. He also worked with some physicians who are members of the extreme makeover team.
One of the highlights of Dr. Smith’s time as chief resident at UCLA was his involvement in the separation of conjoined Guatemalan twins. The surgery, lasting nearly 24 hours, was highly successful and has become the prototype for other operations of its kind. The intense media coverage of the procedure included segments on the Today show and Good Morning America and front page articles in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.
Dr. Smith is on staff at several hospitals including Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center, Irvine Regional Medical Center and Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. He performs his outpatient surgeries at Laguna Hills Surgery Center.
Dr. Smith's Philosophy
Plastic surgery is a very personal and often emotional process. With that in mind, Dr. Smith believes he achieves great results for his patients by developing a relationship with each one that involves time, two-way communication and mutual understanding. He gets to know each person as an individual with their own unique goals and sensitivities. He gives them the information they need to make good decisions. And he takes the time to ensure he and each patient team up to develop a surgical plan they can agree on and feel great about.
Dr. Smith feels an enormous sense of satisfaction when he gives a patient the look nature denied them. In Orange County, breast augmentations, tummy tucks, liposuction and other body-shaping surgeries are immensely popular for women. According to Dr. Smith, men are becoming more accustomed to plastic surgery nowadays, joining the many women who seek his services for rejuvenation procedures such as facelifts and eyelid lifts.
