After completing a full five year general surgery residency and a two year plastic surgery residency, and receiving numerous honors along the way, Dr. Lichten returned to his roots to offer cosmetic surgery in Columbus, Ohio at Central Ohio Plastic Surgery, Inc., which he founded. He is the first and only full time plastic surgeon in the history of Fairfield County. In 2007, Dr. Lichten expanded his practice to include an office in Groveport, Ohio, so he could more conveniently serve his patients in Columbus and all of Franklin County. Although Dr. Lichten enjoys performing all aspects of plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, he finds performing breast surgeries including breast augmentation and breast reconstruction after mastectomy to be particularly rewarding.

Specializing in Mommy Makeovers
No matter how much women love their children, they don't always love what pregnancy has done to their bodies. Most of Dr. Lichten's "mommy makeover" patients are not looking to radically alter their appearances; they are simply looking to restore their bodies to pre-pregnancy condition. When diet and exercise aren't enough, often a mommy makeover is the solution. Most patients accomplish their goals using a combination of a breast lift or breast augmentation in Columbus, along with liposuction and a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).

A person's face is the first feature that people see; it can tell a lot about a person. Aging, sun exposure, pollution and smoking can all take a toll, creating fine lines, wrinkles and sun spots. Dr. Lichten can help turn back the clock using skin care treatments, injectables, and surgery. He believes that the best results come when patients look like themselves, only years younger.
When patients complain about a few localized wrinkles, the solution can be non-surgical. Dr. Lichten has been extensively trained in using BOTOX ® Cosmetic, Restylane®, JUVÉDERM®, Perlane® and Sculptra®. BOTOX in Columbus, Ohio is a purified protein which relaxes the muscles, helping to smooth out lines on the forehead and around the eyes. Dermal fillers like Restylane and JUVÉDERM actually fill in or plump up wrinkles, and are usually used around the mouth and lips. During a consultation with Dr. Lichten, he can recommend which injectable is best for your individual goals.
For patients who are looking for a more permanent rejuvenation, surgery may be the answer. Depending upon the areas of concern, Dr. Lichten may perform an eyelid lift, a brow lift or a full face lift.
Dr. Lichten's Training and Experience
Dr. Lichten earned his BA in Biology and Chemistry with Honors from Brandeis University, near Boston. He then attended and graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. To begin his postdoctoral training, he travelled to New York to complete a full general surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center. He completed his formal training with a plastic surgery residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Lichten is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is an ambassador for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a founding officer of the Columbus Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Lichten maintains privileges at Fairfield Medical Center, Mt. Carmel East, Eastside Surgery Center, and Nationwide Children's Hospital.
