Dr. Michael J. Lee specializes in refinement and rejuvenation of the face, nose and body. He is a board certified plastic surgeon on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University Medical School.
Dr. Lee has a history of excellence graduating from the University of Michigan undergraduate and medical school in the top 1% of his class. His general surgery and plastic surgery training were completed at Northwestern University School of Medicine including training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Evanston Hospital, Children’s Memorial and Shriner’s Hospital for Sick Children.
Dr. Lee has been invited to lecture on rhinoplasty and nasal reshaping as well as a variety of cosmetic surgeries including the latest techniques in facial rejuvenation, noninvasive procedures, breast augmentation, and abdominoplasty. Dr. Lee has published studies in cosmetic surgery in both the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal. His published work has also been referenced by the Wall Street Journal. Dr. Lee has also been interviewed regarding the risks of plastic surgery by both CBS and WGN.
His offices are located across from the hospital in an elegant and private suite on the 20th floor of 676 N. St. Clair in Suite 2010. His offices have a dedicated state of art procedure and two entrances to the office which allow privacy for after surgery recovery. Parking is available at the Northwestern Memorial parking lot and validation is available.

Dr. Lee performs small procedures in his procedure room in his office suite at 676 N. St. Clair, Suite 2010 across from Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Typical procedures include: Botox and filler injections, laser, chemical peels, small areas of liposuction, eyelid surgery, minor nose surgery, minor abdominal contour surgery and lesion removals.
Major surgeries are performed at Northwestern Memorial Hospital outpatient center which is dedicated to quick recoveries and emphasizes preventing nausea and pain. The anesthesiologists are all on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
New Procedures
Short Scar Breast Reduction
If the appropriate patient, a short scar breast reduction can be performed with incisions around the areola and a small vertical incision with no horizontal incision. The shape of the breasts with this type of reduction tends to be rounder than the traditional inferior pedicle reduction.
Short Scar Facelift/Necklift
For women in the forties and fifties, they may be a candidate for a short scar facelift which has a shorter incisional scar than the traditional technique. In the right candidate, these procedures can be performed in the office with only local anesthesia or minor oral sedation.
Liposculpture
Small areas of liposuction can be performed with minimal sedation in the office. The advantages of the procedure are a quicker recovery with no general anesthesia, a shorter recovery time, and less cost.
Minor Nasal Reshaping
Small bumps on the nose or minor nasal tip surgery can be performed in the office under local anesthesia or minimal oral sedation. The advantages will be a quicker recovery and less cost.
Silicone breast augmentation
Silicone implants have been approved since December 2007. In the appropriate patient, silicone implants will cause less rippling and fullness than saline implants.
Fraxel
Fraxel treatment is a laser which addresses fine wrinkles around the eyes, pigmented brown spots, acne and traumatic scars.
