Breast reduction surgeon Dr. Troy J. Andreasen is based in Southern California, and has been in private practice since 2001. Dr. Andreasen treats patients from numerous areas of the Inland Empire ("IE"), including such cities as Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Redlands, and Corona.
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Andreasen grew up with a keen interest in plastic surgery. While a successful Golden Glove boxer, he became acquainted with a plastic surgeon who was also in that sport. It was through this association that his interest developed. Dr. Andreasen soon immersed himself in the study of plastic surgery for the next several years.
Inland Empire plastic surgeon Dr. Andreasen went on to complete medical school at the University of Utah, following two years of religious missionary service. In medical school, he developed advanced microsurgical skills under the direction of Graham Lister, the renowned hand surgeon. Dr. Andreasen helped to define the effects of trauma on microcirculation as a result of his efforts in microsurgical research. Having graduated at the top of his medical school class, Dr. Andreasen received the highest achievement award from his alma mater.
Soon thereafter, Dr. Andreasen was chosen as one of the first U.S. medical school graduates to train in an integrated General Surgery/Plastic Surgery program that emphasized cosmetic surgery. At Loma Linda University, Dr. Andreasen established himself as one of their premier plastic surgical trainees, having excelled in all facets of his training. Dr. Andreasen’s particular interests included cosmetic surgery of the breast, such as breast augmentation and breast reduction, as well as reconstructive surgery of the breast. He also specialized in cosmetic surgery of the face and body.
Since he was 19 years old, Dr. Andreasen has been actively involved in religious missionary service. At Loma Linda, he captained the Loma Linda Good Samaritan Plastic Surgery efforts in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This team offered reconstructive surgery services to impoverished children, twice a year, who would otherwise have no access to these procedures. Dr. Andreasen is highly trained in cleft lip and palate repair and has immense experience in burn surgery, all of which are valuable components of the missionary endeavor.
His pursuit of excellence in plastic surgery has now carried into his private practice. Offering individualized service, Dr. Andreasen treats every breast reduction patients with complete surgical care, from the initial consultation through recovery.
