St. Louis Breast Reduction

Dr. Terry Myckatyn specializes in breast reduction and laser-assisted breast reduction surgery. Breast reduction is designe to create smaller, lighter, more shapely breasts. Reducing breast size can erase the problems and discomforts that come with large, pendulous breasts: neck pain, back pan, skin irritations, and difficulty doing activities. Although the procedure is designed primarly for function, there are positive aesthetic benefits as well: higher, lifted, more youthful breasts.

Breast reduction surgery involves an incision around the areola and a vertical scar from the areola to the base of the breast. This is called a vertical breast reduction. For Dr. Myckatyn's patients with larger breasts, the procedure may include an incision along the base of the breast. These incisions are necessary to remove all of the loose skin that surrounds the extra breast tissue.
